This was my second year celebrating but my first year time trying my sugar skull painting skills. Mac's spanish class made kites and were all in the night parade. Being in a small town, it seems we have a parade for everything. Mostly I go because what little kid doesn't love a parade, and Mac is no exception. But the Day Of the Dead parade at night is really fun, and the creativeness and general good nature is just so nice. There are no fire trucks or politician, just imaginative banners and intricate costumes and fun music. Mac and I love it! So this year I decided to paint myself up too.
Kanon went as Aladdin. I had fun with his paint although he had a difficult time removing it all.
The pants are something else aren't they!
And Mac was just as cute as always.
I hope you had a wonderful couple of days dressing up, eating sweets and celebrating life and lost loved ones.
XOXO
